The news that Real Madrid targets Leny Yoro and Alphonso Davies are less likely to sign for Los Blancos this summer continues to spread through the Spanish capital. It is not secret that they have been following both for a number of months, and would sign them for the right price.

Both Yoro and Davies are out of contract next summer, and Real Madrid have been in contact with the agents of both, even reaching a verbal agreement with the Canadian, but it appears that the asking prices set for them are putting them off moves. That does not rule out the pair signing next summer if they run down their contracts.

However it could have consequences elsewhere in the squad. On loan at Alaves this season, Rafa Marin will return to the Santiago Bernabeu to cover for the presumed exit of Nacho Fernandez. Meanwhile Cadena Cope assure it will be Carlo Ancelotti who is given the choice over whether to stick with Fran Garcia next season as an alternative to Ferland Mendy, or to execute the €8m buyback clause that Real Madrid have on Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez.

Garcia has struggled this season defensively, and lost the faith of Ancelotti as sson as Mendy returned to fitness. Meanwhile Gutierrez has authored one of the best seasons in La Liga this year, but has done so playing a different role than he would  at the Bernabeu, often moving inside.

Equally, it is also early on in the transfer window. Should Lille or Bayern lower their demands, or the players in question push them to do so, that would no doubt alter Real Madrid’s plans. It is no doubt beneficial for negotiations, bearing in mind that Lille or Bayern must sell these players this summer in order to avoid losing them for free,  for Los Blancos to make it known the price must come down for talks to begin.
